In Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah sees the Lord “sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up.” Though overwhelmed, he hears the Lord call out, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” He responds, “Here I am! Send me.” Moses had a similar encounter with God, but his response was more like, “Here I am! Send someone else!”
